"The Thornless Blackberry, also known as Rubus ulmifolius, is a wild blackberry species that is free from thorns. This allows for easy and painless harvesting, making it a convenient choice for blackberry lovers. With its Spanish name zarzamora, it adds a touch of exotic flavor to your garden."

Medicinal and Tea Uses 

New are shoots edible, but the leaves and roots can also be used in tea for various health benefits such as treating diarrhea, coughs, and colds. With high levels of antioxidants and Vitamin C, B-complex, and folic acid. Regular consumption of blackberry leaf tea can help detoxify the body and eliminate toxins as its leaves contain antimicrobial properties that can reduce infections.

This powerful plant was traditionally used by indigenous peoples to treat urinary tract infections, regulate urination, and promote bowel health. Infuse the roots for a soothing eye wash or brew the stems for astringent and tonic properties. The berries can also be used as a source of yeast for fermenting and flavoring alcoholic beverages. Use the fresh or dried leaves for infusions.

The ripe fruit is a nutritious addition to any diet and here on the Wildlands we also make it into a delicious smoothy.
