Hops Edible Uses

Hops offer more than just a bitter taste - their nutrient-rich makeup provides essential vitamins and antioxidants that promote overall well-being. Whether crafting complex dishes or trying out new recipes, these flavorful hops offer a unique and enticing experience for adventurous food lovers.

Young leaves and young shoots can be cooked and the  flavour is unique and, to many tastes, delicious. Young leaves can be eaten in salads. Use before the end of May. The fleshy rhizomes are also sometimes eaten

Medical Uses

Using the dried flowering part of the plant, which has been used for centuries to aid in anxiety, insomnia, restlessness, and other sleep disorders. The flowering heads are sprinkled with bitter-tasting yellow translucent glands, which appear as a granular substance. This substance prevents gram-negative bacteria from growing in the beer or wort. The seeds contain gamma-linolenic acid, an essential fatty acid that is said to have many important functions in the human body and is rarely found in plant sources.
